Kim Chang-ok has long explored communication as a way of connecting people, through words and lectures. He now creates another form of language through the material of ottchil.

Born in Jeju in 1973, he regards the island as both the starting point of his life and the place where he rediscovered his artistic inspiration. Working with ottchil requires repetition and patience, and Jeju's climate — its temperature, humidity, seasons, and air — shapes the surface of each work in ways that cannot be fully predicted. Kim Chang-ok accepts these changes not as flaws, but as traces of time.

This exhibition marks a new chapter in his journey of communication, expressed not through lectures but through art. In the exhibition space, Kim Chang-ok lays out his own passage of time through the language of his work.
